[Okay, so Jade should have realized sooner that this was going to be a problem, but she was too excited about her new Pokemon to consider the repercussions of letting them get into her hair.]

I really love our little new friends! They're kind of gross, but they're really cute and make cute noises. I caught two since my other Pokemon don't really want to get dirty by them.

[When she shuffles into the video feed, Jade's hair is it's own national crisis. All of it seems to be consumed by the slime from the Bloobers and worst of all, there's a lot of stuff getting picked up into her hair. There's twigs and leaves and grass. Some trash was probably in there too. Anything you think were possible to get stuck in slime and Jade's hair is probably in there. She seems to be slightly distressed.] Does anyone know how to clean all of this out properly?! I mean, I'll just cut it all off otherwise, but I was wondering if there's anyway to clean it out. I just keep getting more stuff in it and I can't really clean it all out by myself.

[Her Bloobers pop out of her hair and chirp.

Uhm, I also wanted to ask. Has anyone ever dismantled the Pokeballs to study them? I've considered tinkering with them.

But I would reeeeaally love if anyone can help me with what to do with my hair.

That would be really distressing! I like to think that it won't happen, especially because they're so sweet and playful. [Jade is more of an optimistic thinker.]

I haven't really gotten trapped in one yet! They kind of are more trapped in my hair more than anything!

Whoa, really? I don't know how good I'd be about getting the slime out of your hair, but I could show you how to put it up like mine. Or-- there's lots of stuff you could do with that much hair. I hope you don't have to cut it all...

I'm going to try to. Maybe even more than one if I don't understand it the first time. They're so fascinating. They shrink the Pokemon and keep them safe inside!

I probably should take care of my hair better. There's always knots and it gets super tangled and gets messy easily. [And she doesn't do anything about it.] I hope I don't have to!

That is an intriguing mystery, at the very least. If I didn't have so many other Pokemon to train, I'd experiment with them a bit to see what sorts of things they may be capable of. It might be frustrating at the outset and I honestly don't expect much of them, but who knows? They could surprise us all.

I believe the explanation I was given is that they were originally made out of nuts called an Apricorns that, for whatever reason, have special properties that allow them to catch Pokemon. The discovery of these properties seems to have happened so long ago that nobody really knows how they were discovered, but modern Pokeballs are just an updated, mass-produced version of those originals.

There's a man named Kurt in Azalea Town who still makes the traditional Pokeballs, which are interesting in and of themselves. He's the one who told me all this information, so he might be the best person to ask if you want to try and make some of your own.

What happens if you break something and try to use it on a pokemon? Would it hurt them?

[Like she can predict that. It's still kind of concerning because there wasn't a real way to test it without trying it on something.]

Can you catch rocks with it or does it only respond to pokemon?

[Tenten can't imagine running around with her hair constantly down, it sounds like the potential for a gross sweaty mess. One hand touches one of her hair buns as she laughs and nods in agreement.]

I do. You can do all sorts of stuff with it if it's longer, or just keep it out of the way. Plus if everyone's used to you having a specific hairstyle, if you change it, you look totally different, like...

[Hang on, let her just get her hair out of the buns and start redoing it, using the ties in a low ponytail and combing more of her hair over one eye.]

I'm guessing that information will eventually become more readily available to us with time. I just wonder how long that might be. All we know are basics, which at least helps us with taking care of them. I guess it also means that we might be expecting more surprises in the future, with these guys arriving. Who knows if they'll start showing up more and not as a swarm.

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind and find him! I'd love to learn how to make Pokeballs. I think they're fascinating. They're interesting technology. They can shrink the Pokemon and house them, and they're used to catch Pokemon too. The Pokemon seem to be specifically linked with that specific Pokeball and can't be swapped with another.

There's so much to learn!

I haven't tried cutting them with normal scissors, but I imagine that the goop will ruin regular scissors.

I'll see if I know anyone who has Pokemon that can cut through my hair and goop.

[Hm!] That's worth a try. At worst, it won't work and I'll have to find a new alternative.

I wouldnt use them on Pokemon. I'd probably use the parts for something else or use it to make something else. It's mostly for researching. I've also been told that there's a man who makes Pokeballs traditionally that I'm going to try and meet and learn if he'll let me!

As far as I know for now, if it doesn't work, it won't be able to catch Pokemon. I assume it only responds to Pokemon. I mean, when you catch a Pokemon, they're loyal to that Pokeball you caught them in. I wonder why that is.

I'll have been here two years as of April, and I'd be ashamed to admit that I wasn't much further from where I started if this place didn't make finding useful information of any kind bafflingly difficult.

With that said, I've been wondering about that myself. There are some regions I've read about that that I've only been able to find the names of for reasons I can't actually determine --- Fiore, Oblivia, Almia, and Orre. Perhaps these are from one of those?

Oh, they certainly are... particularly given that you can store them in computers for... whatever reason. I suspect they're converted to energy of some kind rather than shrunk, because where would the matter go otherwise?

Sometimes, but not really. I never really had problems with it before. Sometimes I would have to pull twigs and leaves out, but I go out a lot. I just thought it was something that happened.

It's scientific knowledge, John!!! You see, the reason that our skin wrinkles is the dead keratin cells on our skin are absorbing and expanding from the water, but the live ones don't do this which causes the wrinkling effect. The dead cells are trying to expand, but they can't move due to the live ones.

Of course there are probably other factors. Maybe blood vessels have a hand in it. [I sure as hell googled that.]

Oh! That would be unfortunate. I don't know if the material used for it would cause an explosion. I'll probably research and see if there were any instances where a Pokeball blew up.

I'll be fine though. It's new technology to me, but I've always been into tech. I'd be more worried if I was handling chemicals of some kind.

I was told he's in Azalea town, but I haven't checked my map about how far! A lot, from the sounds of it. Which is even more curious. It means that the material they use causes different effects! [That's so exciting to her.] Maybe so! But I don't think you can get a Pokeball to return a different Pokemon, so it must somehow bound with that certain Pokemon.

That would make sense if they came from those regions. It might mean that passing through here was some migratory action. Maybe something that doesn't happen often, which is why we don't know a lot about them. It also explains why we haven't really seen them around.

I suppose that scientists here can't explain that either, can they... [Jade sounds a little disappointed in that. She really wants to know how these things work.]
